Bio

I was born and raised in Hartford, Connecticut. After high school, I traveled to Georgia where I received my undergraduate degree from Spelman College in Atlanta, and my Master's Degree from Atlanta University. My husband and I have three wonderful children and two beautiful grandchildren. We recently celebrated our 30th Wedding Anniversary in the gorgeous city of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for 8 days. This past summer we also had the opportunity to travel back to my home state of Connecticut to attend my High School Class Reunion. Maya and Michael, our twins, are presently in college and our oldest daughter Lydia, graduated from Georgia State University and is presently in Medical School pursuing her lifelong dream of becoming a doctor. All three of our children graduated from Chapel Hill High School. I love teaching and decided in the 6th grade in Connecticut to become a teacher. In high school, I served as the Vice-President of the Future Teacher's Club of America. I also enjoy Praise Dancing, Modern Dance & Ballet, singing duets with my husband, writing poetry and reading. My husband and I have been a duet singing couple since our wedding day. All lin all, I love teaching the Early Childhood Education Pathway. The knowledge that the students are gaining is knowledge that they will be able to use for the rest of their lives.
