Subjects Taught
Biology, Environmental Science

Jordan Lightfoot graduated from Georgia Southern University, where he partook in expansive areas of research including synthetic chemistry of hydrophobic textile coatings and trifluoro-containing compounds targeting Alzheimers protein folding.  He was a member of two student organizations: the Student Affiliates American Chemical Society (SAACS) and National Organization of Professional Advancement of Black Chemists & Chemical Engineers (NOBBChE).  During his stay, he was also a NIRCA Cross-Country athlete and active peer tutor in Organic Chemistry I, Organic Chemistry II, and Physics.  In 2012, he received his A.C.S. Accredited Bachelor of Science in Chemistry (B.S.Chem).

Focus Areas:

  • Biochemistry
  • Protein Structure and Function
  • Molecular Cycling in Atmospheric Environments

Coach Jordan Lightfoot began teaching Biology, Chemistry, and Physics and coaching Track and Field at Social Circle High School in 2014.  Currently, he teaches Biology and Environmental Science at the Freshman Academy at Chapel Hill High School.  He shares a special interest in lab and research procedures involving metabolic processes of the human body and incurable diseases. His work in the sciences is tightly correlated to his industry experience prior to teaching.  He has served as an active mentor in his community and guest speaker at several churches and business meetings.
