SgtMaj Jordan has 30 years experience with the United States Marine Corps and is a brown belt in Marine Corps Martial Arts.



Bio

Sergeant Major Jordan was born October 16, 1966 in Jersey City, New Jersey.  She enlisted in the Marine Corps in February of 1987 and attended recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina.  Upon graduation from 4th Recruit Training Battalion, she attended Basic Supply School in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. 

Upon completion of school, she was transferred to 1st Medical Battalion, 1st Force Service Support Group, Camp Pendleton, California and served as the Publications Clerk.  In November of 1990, she was transferred to Headquarters Support Battalion, Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune, where she worked at the Chaplains Office as the Noncommissioned Officer In Charge of equipment at the various chapel sites.  In December of 1993, she was then transferred to Marine Corps Tactical Systems Support Activity, Camp Pendleton, California, where she worked as the Administration Supply Chief.

In July of 1996, she was selected for Drill Instructor School at Parris Island, South Carolina.  Upon completion of school, she was assigned to 4th Recruit Training Battalion and served as Drill Instructor and Senior Drill Instructor.  Upon a successful tour at Parris Island, she was transferred to Headquarters Service Battalion, Parris Island, South Carolina and served as the Base Property Control Chief.  In October of 1999, she was then transferred to Headquarters Service Company, Marine Forces Atlantic, Norfolk, Virginia, where she served as the Landing Forces Operational Readiness Material Chief in charge of numerous classes of supply embarked on amphibious ships in support of Marine Expeditionary Units.

In August of 2003, she was transferred to Marine Aircraft Group 42, Detachment B, Norfolk, Virginia, where she served in the billets of Supply Chief, Agency Program Coordinator and Fiscal Chief.  After successful completion of Independent Duty in March of 2005, she was transferred to Transportation Support Battalion, 2nd Force Service Support Group, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, where she served as Company First Sergeant for Beach and Terminal Operations Company and Bravo Company.

After a tour in Iraq, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2006, she came back to North Carolina and was assigned to 2d Marine Logistics Group, where she served as the First Sergeant for Landing Support Company, Service Company, Food Service Company and Acting Sergeant Major for Combat Logistics Regiment 27.

In February of 2009, Sergeant Major Jordan reported for duty as the Squadron Sergeant Major for Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 464, Marine Corps Air Station New River, North Carolina.  In March of 2010, she was assigned as the Marine Corps Recruiting Station Atlanta Sergeant Major.

In July of 2013, Sergeant Major Jordan reported for duty as the Base Sergeant Major of Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort.  She was the first female to ever hold this position.

Sergeant Major Jordan’s personal decorations include the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (gold star in lieu of third award) and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (gold star in lieu of second award).
