Bio

A true Georgia Peach, I have lived in Georgia my entire life. I grew up in Jonesboro, but my family moved my little sister and me to Newnan when I was fourteen, so I attended East Coweta High School. I went on to attend the University of West Georgia where I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a concentration in Secondary Education. I also met my husband, Bryan, during my time at the University of West Georgia. We just celebrated our one year anniversary in June, and have settled in the Carrollton area for now. We both love animals, so we have a house full of pets: a dog, a cat, two fish, a rat, two snakes, and too many chickens to count. While I have been teaching for six years, this is my fourth year teaching at Chapel Hill High School, and I can honestly say that I love this school and I love my job. Teaching is tough work, especially for English teachers like me who constantly find themselves with mountains of essays to grade. Despite the work, however, I cannot imagine doing anything else with my life. I push my students to do better than their best and love to see how much they progress from the rocky start to the epic finish.
