Bio

            Coach Mick Harper is in his 18th year here at Chapel Hill High School as the head fast pitch softball and former baseball coach.  Coach Harper is a mathematics teacher as well as the FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) sponsor.  Coach Harper is a graduate of Lithia Springs High School, has obtained a B.S. degree in Mathematics from Southern Tech, a Master's degree in Mathematics Education from Georgia State University, and a Specialist Degree in Mathematics Education at GA State University. 

            Coach Harper participated in baseball, football, and basketball while attending high school and also played collegiate baseball while at Southern Tech.  His highlights include being selected as the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association Scholar Athlete of the Year as a senior at LSHS as well as a NAIA Academic All-American in 1994 and 1995 while leading the District 25 Conference in batting average (.440) as a junior at Southern Tech. 

           While coaching at Chapel Hill, his softball team won the 2015 AAAAA State Championship and have also finished 2nd in the state in 2004 (AAAA) and 3rd in the state in 2002 (AA) and 2009 (AAAAA) as well as 5th in 2012 (AAA) respectively and has made the state tournament 12 out of 16 varsity seasons.  The 2010 and 2013 baseball teams both finished in the Elite Eight and his teams have made the state playoffs 8 out of 15 varsity seasons.  Coach Harper's teams overall records are 343-141-1 (.709) for softball and 220-143 (.606) for baseball for a combined record of 563-284-1 (.665 winning percentage).

            Coach Harper has been married to his wife Stephanie for over 12 years and they have three children, Micah (9), Sadie Jane (7), and SelahBelle (3).
