Sewell and McLellan Honored
Army-Navy Game to have special meaning for Chapel Hill

In a ceremony held at Chapel Hill High School on Monday, 12 March, Robert Sewell, III and Ben McLellan were recognized for their outstanding achievements in being appointed to West Point and Annapolis respectively.

Robert Sewell graduated from Chapel Hill in 2017 and is currently attending the Military Academy Prep School. He will start as a plebe in the class of 2022 at the United States Military Academy located in West Point, NY. Robbie had an outstanding high school career as a leader in the Navy JROTC program, a leader in the Student Government Association (SGA), a student athlete, and an outstanding scholar. His accomplishments were recognized by Congressman David Scott and the Military Academy admissions personnel, ultimately resulting in his appointment. This is a full four year scholarship that will lead to Robert Sewell’s commission as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army.

Ben McLellan will graduate from Chapel Hill this year and will enter the plebe class of 2022 at the United States Naval Academy located in Annapolis, MD. Ben’s high school career includes lettering in three sports, academic honors (National Honor Society), and the Battalion Commander of the Navy JROTC Unit. He was accepted at both West Point and Annapolis, but chose Annapolis as he desires to be a nuclear engineer and become an officer on a nuclear submarine. He also received a full scholarship to Georgia Tech through the Navy ROTC program. Ben was also recognized by Congressman David Scott for his outstanding academic record and leadership abilities, resulting in his appointment to the Naval Academy and ultimately leading to a commission as an Ensign in the United States Navy.

During the 2018 Army-Navy game, Chapel Hill will have both sides of the field covered as these two outstanding young men pursue their careers and cheer on their teams.
