Mr. Christopher Scott Long is entering into his fifth year as the Head Coach of the CHHS Lady Panthers Basketball Team. Last year was the first year we did not make it the state tournament. Even though this past season was seen as a rebuilding year, the Lady Panthers finished with an overall record of 13-13. As head coach, Mr. Long and the Lady Panthers have accumulated an overall record of 112-56, a region title, region runner-up, with 4 consecutive appearances in the state tournament. He not only views sports as a way of teaching the athletes about the game, but also about life.
As an undergraduate, he attended the University of Shorter where he played basketball and received various accolades for academics, athletics, and school involvement, in addition to his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. He is an alumnus of the University of West Georgia where he received a Master’s in Education. He has aspirations of going into administration and continuing a winning tradition at Chapel Hill.
Mr. Long is married with 3 daughters. He enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, poetry, golf, and playing the guitar.
My vision as head coach of the Lady Panthers is to create a program around which the school, community and the county can rally. Accomplishing this goal will be made possible through hard work, dedication and maximum effort at all levels.
