Mickey Harper
Head Coach

Coach Mick Harper is in his 18th year here at Chapel Hill High School as the head fast pitch softball and was the baseball coach from 1999-2015.  Coach Harper is a mathematics teacher as well as the FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) sponsor.  Coach Harper is a graduate of Lithia Springs High School, has obtained a B.S. degree in Mathematics from Southern Tech, a Master's degree in Mathematics Education from Georgia State University, and a Specialist Degree in Mathematics Education at GA State University. 

Coach Harper participated in baseball, football, and basketball while attending high school and also played collegiate baseball while at Southern Polytechnic State University.  His highlights include being selected as the Georgia Scholar Athlete of the Year as a senior at LSHS as well as a NAIA Academic All-American in 1994 and 1995 while leading the District 25 Conference in batting average (.440) as a junior at Southern Tech.  He was also honored by being inducted into the Southern Poly State University Athletics Hall of Fame in 2015.  Coach Harper has been married to his wife Stephanie for over 12 years and they have three children, Micah (9), Sadie Jane (6), and SelahBelle (3). 

The softball team is the 2015 STATE AAAAA CHAMPIONS and has finished 2nd in the state in 2004 (AAAA) and 3rd in the state in 2002 (AA) and 2009 (AAAAA) as well as 5th in 2012 (AAA) and 2014 (AAAAA) respectively.  They have made the state tournament 12 out of 16 varsity seasons.  In 2015, the team won its fifth Region Championship and it has compiled a 407-150-1 (.731) record under Coach Harper since the school opened in the fall of 1999.  Coach Harper has been awarded the GACA Region Coach of the Year five times and the 2015 GACA and GA Dugout Club State Coach of the Year.

Assistant Coach

Bobby Nail is starting his 17th year teaching physical education here at Chapel Hill High School where he is a varsity baseball coach after serving as head tennis coach for thirteen years.  Coach Nail is entering his 15th season with the Lady Panther softball team as the assistant coach.  He was awarded the 2015 GA Dugout Club Assistant Coach if the Year Award.  Coach Nail has previously coached at Stewart Middle School and Lithia Springs High School.  Coach Nail attended Young Harris College and the State University of West Georgia on tennis scholarships.  He is married to Pam Abernathy Nail and they have three children, Brooke, Zachary, and Mac.
